Do your Samsung dishwasher lights keep flashing? Don't despair! We'll provide you with an easy-to-follow tutorial on how to diagnose and solve the problem quickly and safely.

The dishwasher inlet water valve is the component responsible for supplying the dishwasher with water. If it’s defective, this can cause a variety of problems including flashes of the lights on your dishwasher, slow or ineffective washing cycles, noisy operation and/or insufficient water flow. To check if this is the source of your problem, first unplug the dishwasher. Then remove the bottom panel of your machine to access the valve. Visually inspect it for worn out or broken parts and replace any corrupted components if necessary.

Regularly checking and cleaning out your dishwasher’s drain filter is an important step in maintaining and troubleshooting your machine. Over time, small bits of food or other debris can accumulate in the filter, preventing water from draining correctly. If this happens, air pressure builds up in the machine and causes your dishwasher lights to start flashing. To prevent this, periodically remove the filter and clean it out with warm soapy water. Pay special attention to the gap between the blades of the grinder blade wheel, as this is where most blockages occur.

If your drain filter is clear but the dishwasher lights are still flashing, inspect the spray arms for clogs or obstructions. Make sure that nothing is blocking the rotation of the arms and that all nozzles are free from buildup. Check for kinks in the supply hose and make sure that both connection points are securely fastened to your faucet and dishwasher. Finally, make sure that the height of your upper wash arm is not set too low. If it is, remove it and adjust the collar so its level with the bottom of the tub opening.

Check to make sure that the waste hose is firmly set in place where it connects to wall or sink, usually near the back of the dishwasher. Make sure the air gap cap is connected and is not located too close to water on your countertop or stovetop. Also, check for any blockages in the drain pump filter and make sure that none of the spray arms are obstructed or blocked.
