Faulty Fridge Tips Everyone Needs to Know About

The refrigerator is an essential part of any home, but it can also cause many problems. Learn how to keep your fridge running smoothly and safely.

If your refrigerator has a thermostat, make sure it’s set correctly. You should never leave the temperature at “cool” or “freeze.” Instead, adjust the setting so that the temperature is between 40°F and 140°F (4°C and 60°C).

To clean out the evaporator coil, remove the top panel of the fridge. Then, use a small brush to gently scrub away any food debris. Be careful not to touch the coils with your fingers as they’re very hot! Once you’ve cleaned them, replace the top panel and close up the fridge.

A clogged water filter will cause your fridge to run longer than necessary, wasting energy and money. To replace the filter, remove the top panel by removing two screws at each corner. Then, pull out the old filter and place it into a trash bag. Next, take the new filter and install it by pushing down firmly until it snaps into place.

If you notice that your refrigerator’s ice maker isn’t making ice anymore, there are several things you should check first before calling an appliance repairman. First, make sure the ice tray is full. Second, check the filter. Third, check the drain line. Fourth, check the water level. Finally, check the power switch.
