Other fridge maintenance tips
Here are some fridge maintenance tips to keep your fridge running smoothly:
- To keep your fridge clean, wipe down the inside of the fridge on a regular basis to avoid bacterial and mold growth.
Check the temperature: Make sure your fridge is set to the correct temperature (between 35-38°F or 2-3°C) to keep food fresh.
Organize the contents: Keep food items organized and make sure there is enough space between them for proper airflow.
- The condenser coils are located at the rear of the fridge and can become clogged with dust and dirt. This can reduce the efficiency of the fridge. It is recommended to clean the coils once or twice per year using a soft brush, or with a vacuum cleaner.
Check the door seals: Make sure the door seals are clean and free from debris. Replace any damaged seals to prevent cool air from escaping.
Keep the fridge full: A full fridge runs more efficiently than an empty one. If you don’t have enough food to fill it, use jugs of water to take up space.
Don’t overload the fridge: Avoid overloading the fridge with too much food, as this can block airflow and cause the fridge to work harder than it needs to.
