Tumble Dryer Over Heating - How To Fix It Yourself

Tumble dryers heat clothes inside a drum that spins around at high speeds. The spinning causes friction between the clothes and the drum, which generates heat. Overheating can damage the machine and cause fires.

If your tumbler has been running for more than 30 minutes without stopping, check the temperature gauge on the front panel. If it reads above 120 degrees Fahrenheit (49 degrees Celsius), turn off the power switch and wait until the temperature drops below 120 degrees before turning the power back on.

If the power cord is plugged into a wall socket, then there is no problem with the plug itself. However, if the power cord is not plugged into a wall socket and the power button is lit up, then the power supply is faulty. You should contact a professional electrician to fix the issue.

A loose power supply will cause the machine to stop working. This is because the power supply is responsible for supplying electricity to the motor. If the power supply is loose, then the motor cannot work properly.

Check the heating element by pressing down on the top of the drum with your hand. You should feel resistance as you press down. If there is no resistance, then the heating element needs replacing.
