What to Do When Your Bosch Stove Top Isn’t Working

Before you begin to troubleshoot further, you’ll want to make sure the basics are working. Check that the stovetop is plugged in, that all switches and knobs are in the correct positions, and check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. If your stove top still isn’t working after checking the basics, it’s time to move on to more detailed diagnostics.

You’ll need to check the Burners and Igniter for proper operation. First, locate the igniter or spark electrode on the burner. If it is not sparking when you turn your knob on, this means that there is something wrong with either the ignition system or with the gas supply. Check to make sure that all regulators are closed and that the connection (connection between the pipe and regulator) is secure. For more advanced diagnostics, consult your user’s manual or a professional technician.

If you need to replace or repair your heating elements or burners, it’s a simple process. First, locate the element that needs to be replaced. Then, remove the mounting screws and gently pull out the element. Take measurements and check for any necessary replacement parts before installing the new unit into place. Secure the element with mounting screws and connect the wiring harnesses to their respective studs. Be sure to mount the element tightly in order for it to properly heat up when activated.

Over time, food bits and residue can build up in the burner ports or nozzles and block the gas flow. If this is the case, it may be necessary to clean the ports. Use a paper clip or any small tool capable of reaching inside of each burner port to dislodge any debris that may be blocking gas flow. In addition, inspect all fuel nozzles for signs of wear and tear before reinstalling them back on your stovetop.
