Signs Your Fridge Needs To Be Replaced

It’s not unusual for refrigerators to give out warning signals that they need replacing. Here are some of the most common signs that your refrigerator needs fixing. We have been professionally repairing fridges in Durban since 1983.  

The Refrigerator Is Sticking Out From Its Shelf.

If your fridge has been sticking out from its shelf for more than six months, it might be time to call an appliance repairman. This could mean that there is something wrong with the hinge mechanism, the door seal, or the compressor itself. We have been expertly and affordable repairing fridges in Durban.

There Are Spots Of Rust Around The Door.

If you notice rust spots around the refrigerator door, it could indicate that the seals need replacing. You should also check the hinges for wear and tear. If any of these parts are damaged, then you’ll need to contact a professional appliance repair service.  

You Can’t Close The Door Properly.

There are several other things that might require fixing besides the door seal. Check the compressor, evaporator fan motor, and condenser fan motor. These three motors are responsible for cooling the inside of the fridge. They will need to be replaced if they aren’t functioning properly.  

The Ice Maker Isn’t Working.

Check the water line if the ice maker isn’t making any noise. This should be clear and free of debris. If there is something blocking the drain hole, remove it. Make sure the drain valve is open and the drain hose is connected to the sink.  

The Compressor Has Stopped Running.

Check the compressor itself first. Is it running properly? Does it make a loud humming sound when it starts up? If it does, then it might just need a new belt.
