Keeping Your Washing Machine Functional

If your washing machine has stopped draining water, check the drain pipes first. Make sure that the drains aren’t clogged with hair or other debris. You should also make sure that the drain pump isn’t blocked by something.

 

Next, clean out the filter. This will help prevent any blockages in the system. To do so, remove the lid from the washer and turn off the power switch. Then, use a brush to gently sweep away any lint or debris that might be stuck inside the filter. Finally, replace the lid and turn the power back on.

 

If you notice that the washer isn’t spinning as quickly as usual, check the o-ring. It should be replaced every two years. You can find replacement parts at your local hardware store.

 

If your detergent has been sitting in the bottom of the tub too long, it will need to be changed. This is because the chemicals in the detergent break down over time. So, make sure to replace your detergent when needed.
