Fridge Over Freezing Solutions for Your Home

Fridge troubles can range from minor annoyances to major disasters. Some of these problems include ice buildup on the inside of the door, water leaking into the freezer, and food spoiling in the back of the fridge.

If you notice that the temperature in your home is not as cold as usual, check the thermostat first. It’s possible that the thermostat has been set too low, so adjust it accordingly. You should also make sure that the fan is running and that the vents are open.

Next, check the settings on the thermostat itself. You should see a setting called “Setpoint”. This is the temperature that the thermostat wants the room to reach. Make sure that it’s set to 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius). Also, make sure that the fan is turned on.

If the thermostat isn’t working correctly, then the temperature inside the fridge will also not be set correctly. To replace the thermostat, first turn off the power at the breaker box. Then, unscrew the old thermostat from the wall and remove it. After that, install the new one and tighten the screws.

Next, remove the evaporator coil cover by removing the screws holding it in place. Then, use a screwdriver to pry off the plastic clip that holds the evaporator coil in place. Finally, pull out the evaporator coil and clean it with warm water and soap.

If the ice maker isn’t making any ice, then there might be something wrong with it. Check the wiring first. Then, try turning off the power to the unit and unplugging it. If that doesn’t work, call an electrician.
