AEG fridges are renowned for their excellent performance, but like any other appliance, they can encounter occasional issues. This article covers some of the most common problems with AEG fridges and provides tips on how to troubleshoot them effectively.

Check Temperature Settings.

One of the most common problems with AEG fridges is incorrect temperature settings. With incorrect settings, your food will not stay cool for long periods of time and may spoil sooner than expected. To check your temperature settings, open the refrigerator door and turn the knob from very cold to medium or warm until desired temperatures are achieved. If needed, adjust the internal temperature by slightly tweaking the teperature knobs. As always, make sure you double-check if your fridge is properly plugged into a working outlet before taking any other action.

Verify Your Refrigerator Has Power.

Before calling in a professional, make sure that your AEG refrigerator is indeed getting electrical power. Ensure that the wall socket or power outlet of the appliance is working and check if the plug is properly inserted. To verify that the fridge is receiving electricity, use a voltage tester to detect current flow in your home’s wiring system. If you find out that your refrigerator isn’t receiving power, have an electrician inspect and repair faulty wires or outlets.

Clean the Coils of Your Fridge Regularly.

Cleaning the condenser coils at the back of your AEG fridge is an essential task that you must do regularly. This helps prevent the coil from clogging with dust and other debris, which can result in issues such as restricted airflow and poor heat exchange. If you ignore this step, it will eventually damage the performance of your refrigerator and even reduce its life expectancy. To clean your condenser coils, use a vacuum or soft brush to remove dirt buildup.

Inspect the Door Seal for Signs of Damage or Wearing Off.

A worn-out door seal is a common problem found in AEG fridges. If the seal isn’t creating an airtight seal around the door, cold air will escape and warm air will enter, causing frost buildup inside the fridge. To check if your door seal needs to be replaced, put a sheet of paper between the door and the body of the fridge. If you can pull out the sheet with ease then it’s time for you to replace your seal!

Check if the Grille Is Free from Obstructions and Blockages.

To ensure your AEG fridge is working efficiently, the grille area needs to remain clean and free from blockages. If a buildup of dust has occured, use a vacuum cleaner to remove any debris that might be clogging up the grille. This should help to boost your fridge’s performance and efficiency.
